Enjoying the gardens and landscape well into the night is always a challenge as it gets dark. Yes I have solar lights and path lights here and there, but here a few less typical ideas to extend your evening.
Solar Bricks
The site selling these recommends them for pathways, which would be really fun but I’m thinking they would be great around a pond or just strategically placed within a garden bed. They come in three different colors. They have to be attached to a solar power source, but are easy to install. When motion is detected, 4 bright LEDs automatically illuminates inside of each fixture. More info.
Glow-in-the-Dark Spray Paint
This sounds so fun, I can see myself randomly spraying a whole multitude of garden décor and plant stands with it. This luminous paint that creates a glowing effect in the dark after being charged by natural or artificial light. The glowing effect can last up to 4-8 hours. It can be applied to wood, metal, dry wall, ceramic, plastic and more. More info.
Luminescent Pebbles
This is a Canadian product that is eco-friendly, safe for dogs, chickens and kids, plus it is like adding fireflies to your landscape throughout the season. CORE Glow luminescent products, when exposed to daylight, will maintain an afterglow, initially very radiant, then slowly dissipating as dawn arrives. They are reported to last 20 years! I have a French drain that would look fun with these. More info.
Isn’t his accent fun?
If anyone has used these products and has feedback I’d love to hear. Actually if you have used other fun outdoor lighting ideas please share those too.
How about a bucket light hung on a pole near your garden or in a tree if you have a shady garden? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUn_DG1PhQw
We use one when camping and it throws off an amazing amount of light at our site. Could do the same for your garden. But the luminescent pebbles seem like a lot more fun!
