Whenever we are invited to bring a dish to pass, and I don’t have time to look for recipes, shop or cook, this is the recipe that Dave prepares. It came from my Mom. I like it because you can make it ahead and it just gets better and better after it sits in the fridge for a while.
Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad
1 bunch broccoli, chopped
1 head cauliflower, chopped
4-6 green onions, chopped
10 oz. frozen peas, thawed (you can use fresh if you blanch them first)
1 C mayonnaise
3/4 C sour cream
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic salt
2 Tbl sugar
precooked bacon
Mix it all together and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving). It makes a very large bowl. Sprinkle crumbled bacon on top before serving.
Options: To reduce the calories you can use lo-cal mayo and sour 1/2n1/2 or reduce the amount of sour cream by adding some yogurt instead.
